Early on in his career, long before computers would even fit through the door, Bruce Chezem started his career as a cabinet maker during his time off as a firefighter for the State of California. His mentor taught him how to make cabinets with a few basic power and hand tools. After a short time, Bruce figured he knew more than his boss and he struck out on his own. He opened his first cabinet shop in Grass Valley, California in 1978.
Fast forward a few years and a career change to software engineering. Bruce maintained his interest in woodworking and found ways to solve cabinet making problems using computers.
Fast forward again to the present. He's observed there are no vast pools of resources on the internet for cabinet makers like there are for architects or photographers or doctors or lawyers. Bruce is using Cabinet Design Engineer to share tips, tricks, software tools and knowledge about running successful cabinet companies. On Cabinet Design Engineer, you'll find resources that will help you be more successful in your cabinet business.
In Bruce's welcoming and low key manner, he likes to create success for himself and his clients. A natural leader, Bruce's talented approach to project conception, management and follow-up have led him through doors that few have entered. His professional ventures range from designing furniture for businesses in the U.S., Canada, and the U.K., to writing software for television, lending, and pharmaceutical industries to directing, editing and producing television commercials, as well as designing and building beautiful cabinets.
